WHAT IS SPORTS THERAPY?

"Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability." As defined by The Society of Sports Therapists

A Sports Therapist is a healthcare professional who has the knowledge, skills and ability to:

  • utilise sports and exercise principles to optimise performance, preparation and injury prevention programmes
  • provide the immediate care of injuries in a recreational, training & competitive environment
  • assess, treat and, where appropriate, refer on for specialist advice and intervention.
  • provide appropriate sport and remedial massage in a sport & exercise context
  • plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation programmes

Here's What Some Bex's Clients Have To say:

"After almost 4 months of being plagued by an injury I ended up being assessed by Bex. At this point I was feeling quite low really as I had already spent a lot of money at other places and because I am a canicross trainer and outdoor fitness instructor I make my living through running. Nobody had been able to really help me up until that point. Bex performed a really thorough assessment, did a splendid massage and we tried dry needling too. After two treatments I started to notice an improvement. The really tight and sore spot on my shin has gone and my ankle is feeling so much better. I will carry on treatment with Bex as it has been really beneficial. I am back running on the trails with my dog and can offer my classes in confidence knowing my injury will get better. I would recommend going to see Bex but go and see her first, not last , as you will save money and get the correct treatment right away."

"Training for swim run events demands balancing training loads and recovery. Becs background in sport combined with her therapist knowledge provides an excellent understanding service to keep me in good condition!"

"My job in the Royal Marines is very physically demanding. Bex has assessed and treated the injuries I pick up when in the field to enable me to keep doing my job efficiently and to the best of my ability."

"I have a bilateral hip replacement and have been struggling recently after a couple of falls. I was recommended physio but knew that wasn't enough for me so I got in touch with Bex... what a difference! This lady really knows her stuff; she told me where and why I was getting these pains and then set to work. Bex has magic in her hands! I am now back at work and walking my dog daily. I am truly grateful and I cant recommend her highly enough!"

"I had a back neck and shoulder massage, Becky is a fantastic therapist and very professional. I felt very relaxed in her company as we discussed ailments I will definitely be using Becky again."
